Andrew Collins presents: Avebury – The Cygnus Mystery

Sunday 6th @ 4.00pm

Greetings Mooties, this coming moot will be presented by the famous author Andrew Collins. For this moot Andrew asks, is Avebury aligned to the constellation of the Northern Cross, also known as Cygnus, the celestial swan. This was the discovery of Professor Alexander Thom in the 1960s, and rubbished by American archaeoastronomer Professor Gerald Hawkins, famous for announcing that Stonegenge was a Neolithic calendar clock.

Andrew Collins investigated and found that Thom was correct – Avebury is aligned to Cygnus. Yet if so why? What is the significance of this much overlooked constellation positioned so prominently on the Milky Way? The answer is that it has been seen as the point of
origin of life and universe, as well as the destination of the soul in death for cultures and civilizations around the world for many thousands of years. Its influence is reflected in the alignments of the Pyramids of Giza, the Indian mound sites of North America, the great temple of Cusco, and the Hindu temples of India. In his book THE CYGNUS MYSTERY, Andrew shows that Cygnus has been at the root of religions worldwide for over 30,000 years.

You can have a look at Andrew Collins site here by the way - check out the books page!

Please note that the start time for this presentation is 4pm, so please ensure you get there a little early as we'll be starting on time.
